I'm sure it's been done to death in the past, but I, having only subscribed
way back in June wouldn't know (though I too am interested in peoples' views
on the specifics of the curse)

My personal opinion is the following:

- The temperature boundary lies at body temperature (excluding strange
occurrences such as the Herb affair and fanfics, which aren't canon anyway)
- Sweat does *not* trigger the curse
- Nor does drinking water
- Or potentially urine
- Practically ANY amount of water can change...  I believe a similar thread
on RAAF (Or was it RAAM?) stated that somewhere in the manga, Ranma changes
with only the water from a small dinky squirt gun.  but humidity obviously
can't.
- As for the CURSE water needed, again, all that it touches.  I think the
example used was the Spring of Drowned Twins water than landed on a bump on
Happosai's head at one point that caused the bump to duplicate...
- As for speed, if it's not instantaneous (which I do not believe was
proved) then it's pretty fast.
- As for feeling, nothing has been ascribed (except by fanfics...  Which
aren't canon anyway)  Though it's quite possible (indeed, probably almost
certain) that the change causes no pain.
- Disorientation appears to be minimal...  Unless you're Ryoga...  And
that's not the curse's fault anyway.

But remember...  Almost all this is speculative, as no solid facts can be
drawn from the manga.  Indeed, the curse's aspects were much less important
than the actual plot anyway.  And I'm not even touching pregnancy.  That's
been done over and over with (obviously) no clear results.  Presumably, most
is up to the fanfic author (if you read fanfics)

On another note:

On the topic of fanfics, has anyone seen a Love Hina/Ranma 1/2 crossover?
I've seen lots of possibilities...  And then it's also possible that the
series are TOO alike for it to work...  But there have been Futaba-kun
Change and Tenchi Muyo! crossovers, so I see no real reason a R1-2/LH cross
over wouldn't work...
