Hey all, it's been a while.

My excuses?

PSO, School and Work. (In that order)

Let's get it on!

-------
-------

As the unofficial leader of the A.C.L. (the anti-canon
league) I just had a few things to add. But first...

Mr Sanchez-
>And as far as Ryouga and Ukyou are concerned. It's
>obvious that they are meant for each other in the
>anime.

Shouryu-
>IN THE ANIME. You either discount one, or separate
>them into their own universes completely. The fact
>of the matter is, one stayed 100% true to intentions
>and motivations of universe's creator. The other one
>simply did what it felt necessary to keep people
>watching.

>I stick by what Takahashi wrote. They're HER
>characters, as SHE wanted them, not HER characters as
>some other guy wanted them.
>Hell, if you want to count the anime as something
>valid, you might as well count fanfiction as valid,
>too. It'd be no different.

Mr Julian-
>But for the most part, the Anime is just as valid as
>the manga. I find both of them to be valid
>representaions of miss Takahashi's vision. And
>fanfiction may not be a valid representation of the
>storylines as miss Takahashi wrote them.

This particular issue has been debated since I got
here, and will probably still debated long after I
leave. The Anime should get more credibility than it
receives at times. I dont know the actual contractual
obligations and all, but the fact that
Takahashi-sensei signed the dotted line gives the
series far and away more credibility that any
fanfiction written thus far, or in the future.

** Shinobu's attention is diverted from the serious
discussion of our beloved series to BET. The video for
"Lady Marmalade" comes on, with sexy females dressed
in obscenly skimpy thongs and garters.

Howwwrulllll!!!!! (^_^) ***

**AHEM!!**

Sorry. Anyway, the Anime complements the manga, it
doesn't compete with it or replace it. I think to
understand the Ranma world, reading the manga is
essential. However, the Anime is more playful,
experimenting with different character mixes, throwing
different senarios and situations together, and that's
why I love the Anime. In certain situations, I think
the Anime is valid. For example, in Akane and her
sisters, we see Akane pushed to perform her martial
arts on a totally new level. If that isn't character
development, then I don't know what is. So, when I
make the claim that Yes, Akane is a martial artist to
be reckoned with, I would use that OAV as
justification. There isn't any conflict with an
existing manga storyline. The OAV, as far as I know
has not been reproduced in Manga form. If this is so,
and Takahashi-sensei is directly or indirectly
involved, then why isn't this considered valid on this
ML?

I believe it is a matter of person and degree, and we
will never obtain total agreement here. But, at least
I wanted to make sure that the Anime lovers were
heard, and thanks to Mr Julian and others who
supported the Anime.
