Hmm... another unexpected nap from the ML. Not that a lot happens or
anything...
(somewhat Newcomer related)
Hotnit:

Yeah, well, New Zealand is sadly not exactly at the heart of things. Their
stores get shipments months after the US does (or so I recall).
It wouldn't be too surprising that the slang stays there much longer.
Kinda like Quebec and France, you know...
Hiroe:
<snips>
*slightly annoyed* You know, if you're going to post for useless flaming,
you might as well lurk.
Was it Shin?
>LOL!!
>I'm new to this list, so tell me why exactly why
>Americans are to blame. This should be good!
Something to do with the pompous hegemony of America over the whole
world during the last century... military bases everywhere, so-called peace
enforcement, american "culture" sorta imposed to other countries, and
other oddities in the same fashion. Look back at your high school history
books, it should be written in there between the propaganda...
However, we're not here to discuss politics, it's even forbidden IIRC, so I'll
drop the subject.
Other things:
Pooky:
>I heard from U2R (Shawny-kins) that there used to be a grammy-awards
>type thing for the ML... what's happened to this?
Basically, the traffic last year wasn't terrific, and we didn't get any
memorable posts or threads like we used to, so the point was moot.
If we get some good stuffs going, somewhere in January (I think) we all
vote the Edgars. Look at the 1999 mail log for more infos...
The prospect of the Edgars had a positive influence over the posters a
few... years ago (already...). When you get 300 and plus mails every day
like we used to at the time, you don't exactly like to have to browse
through junk posts...
Bard:
>Anyway, just thought I'd end my lurkdom (my ML backlog
>is around 130 messages long) and ask a question.
If you ever read that message:
did you check up your mail these last 2 months?
(we had exactly 9 MO posts in one whole week 2 or 3 weeks ago...)
Dr Facer:
>What's that baby doing there!? Does that means Andy finally got
>the guts?
I don't exactly know the juicy details (and in that case you can't imagine
how much I wish I'd knew), but well, let's just say that Mai is a lot to
han(fon)dle. She probably took it (their relationship) in her hands to have
things progress anyway... ^_~
Brad:
>They'll probably have to learn how to make RPGs that
>rival Square, and I doubt they have the ability right now...
I can see it happen, if they buy a whole Square team and rename it
Microsoft... or did I miss a step in their usual tactic?
Don:
>Microsoft has Sega as a developer, and I believe they've got quite a
>few of the major Japanese developers.
The question is, how long until we see really awestrucking games coming
form non-japanese teams?
I'll buy the X-box if it really has good games that I can't find anywhere else.
Just like the PS2. Not going to buy one until FFX, if at all.
I'll get to other quotes later...
