    Huh?  I don't think Ranma and Akane ever fights in my fanfics.  :) It
started out because I idealize Akane, though after a while I realized that
conflict was never what I wanted to write about between them anyway.
Takahashi can figure out how their relationship turns out, I want to write
about something else.  Besides, there's already way too many fanfics out
there about them fighting.  I'm not saying you can't do that, but what
interesting thing can you possibly write about Ranma and Akane fighting?
They've done that plenty of times in the series, and way too many times in
fanfics.  Seems like you'd have exhausted all the fun stuff by now.

    I'd say that R&A fighting isn't something that you wouldn't see
everyday, but no one's going to be surprised if they fight, either.

    Heh, the "Hey look, I know Japanese!" syndrone.

    I really don't see how Japanese can add anything meaningful to an
English-based medium.  If you say something can only be understood in its
Japanese context, well, if that's really true, then a lot of people wouldn't
get it... so what's the point?

    Though I admit, sometimes I actually could use a chan or oneechan here
and there.  "Older sister XYZ" just doesn't some quite right, neither is
calling them by name.  But I'd say 99% of the time when people use the
suffixes like chan and whatnot, they really aren't needed, and that's
probably what annoys me the most about using Japanese in fanfic.  If it's
not needed, why bother?

    Sounds like what happened to Kelvena in Xenogears... or at least what
