    I really don't see any profound effects from the insults.  They're just
there so that there's a reason for Akane to flatten Ranma for his
stupidity/insensitivity.

    The characters only have memory of what happened in the current story
arc, for the most part, and sometimes not even that.  There are some
constants in the world, but that's about it.
