| I guess it isn't good in your book. As for being ugly, I haven't seen the
| anime yet, so I can't say more, but it's rather subjective...

It may be "good". I just don't like it that much so far.

| I thought the manga started, like, 4 years ago... it can't be news to you.

I never followed the manga.
(I don't like Takahashi manga. Ranma is the exception. I like Ranma.)

| Besides, Dragon Ball has not the level nor mastery about character
| development.

I haven't seen enough of Inuyasha to say.
(as for Dragonball, I have only seen the anime, never read the manga much)

| The only link I can think of is that they have to find every chip of the Jewel
| of the Souls (it's been broken into tiny little pieces).
| So basically you have a plot that allows an infinity of filler episodes. Which
| would describe Dragon Ball correctly, I suppose.

The part about going around to find the pieces..
like Goku going off to find the dragonballs.
Goku goes along with Buruma, etc.
Here, we have the girl going with Inuyasha..
This part seems similar.

When I saw the scene when the jewel broke, and went flying all over,
that immediately reminded me of Dragonball.
Then later on in the episode, the old woman says that they have to
go get the pieces..

The anime hides all of these. The anime is very abstract when
showing violence and death. I think it is self-censored well,
to make it showable to a general audience.

| Good question, that. The manga can be "violent, gruesome, ugly" but the
| anime... I don't remember. I only have Aibara's intro on tape, and IIRC even
| the manga has only one pic with blood. The filler eps I've seen never
| actually showed anything...
| But, again on the manga, sometimes you might need some stomach...
| ewww.
| Nothing like Kinda'ichi, though.

Even the Kindaichi anime was pretty tame compared to Inuyasha.
