The Last Unicorn rocks. It was an American attempt at creating an anime, i
believe the authors had this fully in mind, but they were unfortunately ahead
of their time... and well... the project didn't do as well as it could have.
All in all, I'd love to get my hands back on a copy of it - I saw it in the
theater when i was VERY young, and had taped it off of tv 10 years ago or so,
but have since lost it again. The music is good, the art is good, the story
is good, the voice acting is even acceptable. The timing, however, again, was
very very off.

As for your comment about it being only rated G, what's that all about? That's
a load of crap. Just because a show doesn't have gratuitous violence and sex
doesn't mean it isn't worthwhile. In fact, I like it that way because I
wouldn't be concerned to let my children watch it. I hate the idea of
censoring Ranma's topless escapades... but, you know... there is something to
be said for good clean artistic anime.

Whee! Ok, my rant's over and probably entirely misplaced, shrug, don't shoot
me yet, let me get going first, ok? Grin.

Peace.
