"*points and laughs* Just kidding. Welcome back, girl. Hope life's
been treating you well..."
Hey! You crusty ol' vet. ^_^ Good to see you!

Mark:
"FF8 ~was~ cool, but it wasn't one of the series' more defining moments.
It was just a very good game instead of a great game. Lots of peoplefeel
that the graphics (battle engine) actually looked a little worse thanin
FF7. Many considered the magic system (stock-piling) to be tedious. Many
felt that the summon spells overbalanced the game, making physical
and weapon attacks almost uselese. And many also felt that the game relied
too much on flashy visuals instead of gameplay. FF8 was a dissapointmen
for many people who expected it to be the next "holy grail" of RPGs."
Very true. However, many people had impossible expectations, and many
more have confused their personal opinion with the end-all be-all of
whether a game is "good" or not. I think Moby-Dick is the most boring
book ever written by anyone in human history, but it's still a classic!
Incidentally, the argument that the game was a showcase for the
graphics is flat-out wrong.

Czarfire:
"Napster closed? It won't work anymore? When did this happen?"
The RIAA won an injunction against Napster, and it was ordered to shut
down. However, before the axe fell, Napster won in appeals court and
it's staying up for a while. Meanwhile, Gnutella and other alternatives
watched their servers crash as millions of people tried to download as
soon as the announcement was made....
