Back from a 4 days nap....

Mike's fics:

>Probably no chance of that. I hear his fics get him a new one torn
>pretty often on RAA*. I know there are people who are pretty
>harsh on any OOC fics, but Mike seems to write quite beyond the
>pale, from what I've heard.

Well, it's a matter of opinion, but he and Zen are to me the most
clueless Ranma 1/2 readers out there. They're, like, 250% in denial.
Though I vaguely remember that Mike also did correct stuffs. It's
been a long time though.

Don on Kid:

Thanks for teh link. She IS cute, I'll admit that. Need to see and
read more more about teh game though.
I'll see to get the game (maybe in exchange for a FF9 walkthrough
at teh local game shop).

Mark:

>Look at that show on Cartoon Network with the samurais (can't
>remember the title).

Not many of them out there, so I'd guess Yoroiden Samurai
Troopers.

Ronald:

>There was a Ranma 1/2 Battle Rennasaince for the PSX, but
>except for the story mode, it was a Tekken clone (and not a
>particularly good one,

Well, teh guys at Shogakukan that did the game weren't
professionals IIRC.
Ranma on a newer platform would benefit from teh free 3D
environment (ability to jump on walls, use decorum etc, like Dead
or alive 2 or such) but the problem is it's too late to do something
like that.

VArious video games replies...

Mark:
>You don't have to spend as much time leveling up your
>characters.

Remember IV? it took an infinity to get to level 72, and after that
your status decreases.... A shame.
VI wasn't that long either. Well, you HAD to play alone on the
T-Rex forest, but it was worth it.

>Eh? That's not really a valid complaint because its true for most
>every RPG. After you spend 40-50 hours playing an RPG, the
>average person will want to go play something else next. I
>~loved~ Chrono Trigger, but I couldn't bring myself to play all the
>way through it more than once. Hell, I spent 80+ hours playing
>through it the first time!

Amai, amai, AMASUGIRU!!!!
I think I've played that one as much as Don did... (basically, got
everything. Every guy with all **stats, every objects, every ending...
t'was a matter of pride at the time...)
I have a limited collection of games that really belong to me, but
most of them are RPGs, and I play them usually at least twice
through. Can get really long when you have a game that requires
160+ hours to clear....

<snip reviews value comments>

As you said, to each his own... I guess it's a problem with me.

Don:

>and it's a serious stretch of imagination that he can actually lead
>the SeeD to victory.

In that regard, the scenario was kitsh (sp????).
OK, so 3 students will help 3 other ones to kidnap a president and
assassinate teh most powerful being on the planet, then suddenly
get to lead a whole resistance force, then end up having as allies
the head of teh most advanced civilisation on the planet, and over
that a close second to aforementioned strongest being ionto their
party... only to get to travel through time with teh esper powers of a
single friend....

Uh, guys, that's really a big stretch.

But even flawed like this, teh game can draw you in... I think it's
quite an accomplishment.

>Unfortunatley, he had the only usefull attack limit break

You didn't play the game enough, it seems.

>I have YET to understand why no one seemed to be bothered by
>the revelation that the GFs SUCK YOUR MEMORY.

Because it doesn't matter to them. Remember the text?
"I don't give a fuck if it messes up with my older memories. I need
their strenght" (Squall)
"I don't want to remember my childhood times with Seifer anyway"
(Zell)
"we'll just have to create our memories in common from now on"
(about everybody else)

Shadow:

>DBZ, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon fandom should be considered
>generally not a part of regular anime fandom because most fans
>of those shows will probably never become fans of other anime.

That makes 40% of teh french fandom and 95% of teh german
fandom intellectually challenged, because that's exactly where
most people come from...
You should limit you to age categories. As one grows up, one gets
other likings, and that's what will (eventually at worst) make teh
market evoluate. I know a fair amount of people that I consider as
really limited, but even they got to mature/change and went to
something else.

Chris:

>The course, Japenese 110, is equivalent to taking
>Japanese 100, 101, and 102. I'm in class 4.5 hours a day 5 days a
>week.

Well, I guess it's a difference in teh university method. A semester
in Germany equals 104 hours of classes. (13 weeks @ 8 hours/w)

I guess that under your conditions, you are right. We just weren't
on the same terms. Sorry.

Aya-chan:

> I work at a Chinese restaurant and I want to play it for my boss
>(and I don't want to make a fool of myself!). Sankuu!

^_^ well, I myself think you'd be making a foll of yourself singing it
for your boss, but...

With a little luck, someone saved the transliteration on a file at the
Ranma Message Board from Frank.
I posted the lirycs there quite a while ago, but I don't have my
database here at the moment.
As many people otehrwise replied, it's mainly chinese with some
japanese in between.

Stiffanie:

>If Viz DOES rearrange the stories included in each volume, does
>anyone know why they do this?

Ever noticed they didn't even respect teh chapter beginnings and
endings? (statement based on the german version, who is an exact
replica of teh american one if I'm to believe competent people on
that matter)
I guess they put out a certain number of pages out in each little
issue, and compile a set number of them in bigger graphic novels.
Regardless of what happens to be the reference.
(well, I don't mind bigger graphic novels, but it kinda gives a
headache to people that want to discuss story arcs but base their
page references on different versions)

MP3:

>Napster closed? It won't work anymore? When did this happen?

They have till Wednesday to close...
Mp3 are illegal anyway...

	Pierre

wished blatant CD traffic would be stopped...
But no one seems to care -_-#
