I wouldn't agree: I think it's a very nice romantic comedy series.

"Aoi" being sort of a blue-green, but including both blue and green.
And if you look at Japanese traffic lights in anime, they look blue-green,
not what we'd think of as pure green.
The color in the name of the show being "mizuiro" which literally
means water-colored, "mizu" being (as every Ranma fan should
know) the word for (cold) water. But as you say, the Technogirls
were making a somewhat figurative translation, trying to convey
a double meaning.

I don't know, I'd say Lum would be a better candidate for that description.
