Ha-ha-hi!
Back from France after a disastrous Eve...
And ready to go!
Bradster:
>Some day.....
>My own 'Little Shop of Horrors'...
>It will be glorious...
T_T <-----that's supposed to be tears of joy
I can see it!
Oh, the beauty of it all....
Oh...
*ahem*
Shadow and others on "how we are seen"
<snip>
Well... last year (when I entered the manga club of my university in
Japan for all new folks here -welcome, btw-)
the first contact was weird, but it went smoothly on as soon as we
started talking anime.
They were very surprised with how much I knew... then quite pleased
when I joined the "iroha" anime karaoke.
But then again, they freaked out when I showed them my room...
I suppose I overdid it a little.
As for now, in our department there are 5 students (out of around 30)
that started japanese to get original anime videos.
I'm "coaching" (kind of) 4 others on my own and show them what I
could gather, depending on their skills (no way I'm gonna show them
MH if they don't have the slightest idea of classical japanese).
Mostly I'm trying to find a way between Totoro and Gasaraki, while
translating as much stuffs as I can (got my offer of KaraKano turned
down Monday by Dynamic and AD Visions).
My professors... are not saying much about it, but I doubt they see
it as a bad thing. I think they believe I'll "grow" out of it.
My parents gave up a long while ago ^_~
Anime (tapes, LD, DVD)
Well.........
Let's put it that way: in Japan, they're all the same price
anyway.... (4800Y to 9800Y) but you can rent tapes. Not LD, and most
of the time not anime DVD. (no porn DVD either, at least not where I
checked)
The thing that IS quite cheap however, when one wants the original
version, is to ask on french anime forums or to wait for special
reedition. (that Pioneer anime collection, for example)
Let's see... I got a copy of the Nadia LD box (600 bucks new)
for 80... all options included (what kind of tape and so on)
Apart from being morally wrong and punishable by law (well, no one
cares anyway) it is quite the best way I know.
If I can find him back, I'll try to contact Julien. That guy lives in
Paris, he's about 25, and he has almost every serie lying around
somewhere. He's taking 2 or 3$ the ep depending on series, length,
and version.
Just hope his fiancee didn't throw everything out ^_^

Just understood how Sega made sure people playing the Sega Saturn
don't get epileptic: the reading lens gives up after about 3 hours...
