They are not doing it because you are a newbie; we all were
once (and with every NG I subscribe to, I become one again).
You are, IMO, coming in here and making statements about
how this ML should be, and while you have a right to an opinion,
there is only one person here that can lay down the law as to what
is proper on this list; Hitoshi Doi, the guy who runs this list.
Not me, not you, none but him.
This list has been around for quite a long time (I myself subbed in
the Autumn of 1995, and it was very much established way before
then). It is somewhat more freewheeling now than it was when
I subbed, and that is because a lot of fresh meat has joined
since I started. (Interesting way with words, heh ^_^). That is why
I suggested that you lurk for awhile before jumping in. To see
how things are, and how you can contribute in your own way.
I only write when I feel the need to, which isn't as often as others
here (everyone to their own needs). But there is a way that things
go on here, and to have someone walk in the door and demand
change is just plain rude.
Believe me when I say that I am much nicer about this than others
can be. The world won't change just because someone commands
it to; just lay back a bit, see how things progress here, and you
will see the method to the madness here.
