I finally saw Princess Mononoke last night, and there's very
little I can say about it that hasn't already been said by
someone else here. However, I would like to mention that there
were people who brought their kids (twelve and younger) to the
theater, and who were brave and stuck it out instead of freaking
and dragging the kids away as soon as it got graphically violent.
And the kids didn't get upset. They could handle it. It made me
want to stand up and scream to the majority of "concerned
"parents in the country, "See? Take a look at this! Kids can
handle this sort of powerful image! Give them a little credit and
stop sheltering them!" I would recommend the movie to everyone,
even though I know that most people would not want their children
to see something so brutally honest.
