I'll warn everyone now, though: The fanfic I have in mind (and I'm NOT
going to go and pick a different one) is remarkably similar to the one
we just read.  But it's finished, so it's okay.

Not necessarily.  Les Misrables was an instant best-seller when it was
published.  Have you read it?  It's very long.  And that doesn't
necessarily mean that it's 'interesting for longer periods of time.'
Victor honey, your book was wonderful and I love you dearly, but we
don't need an entire chapter about the construction of the sewers of
Paris.
