(Looks thru' his worn copy of The Seven Lucky Gods of
Japan by Reiko Chiba ((yep, it's an actual book dealing with
each deity and it's associations)); This sounds like one of
the seven, Hotei; generally portrayed as a big, fat, bald
guy with whiskers, and of general good nature; essentially
as the book puts it, "the god of good fortune, guardian of
children, patron of fortunetellers, wits, and bartenders."
And he indeed has only one set of arms ^_^>
