Most people seem to watch Anime first. It is relatively easier to get
Anime than manga as far as I know. Go to any rental store or best buy
or something and they'll have Ranma 1/2 Anime, but you've to go to a
pretty big bookstore or a specialized bookstore to get Ranma 1/2 manga
(US). I know a lot of people who's seen Ranma 1/2 Anime but only one
person that owns any Ranma 1/2 manga (US).

The pool remembers the first person falling in. Apparently the one
Akane fall in was new, while all the other ones people fall in already
have some unfortunate victim a while ago.

It's not so much as the manga is right... it's just that the examples
chosen in Anime has no coherency of any sorts. Manga has that problem
too. For example if curses are stackable like Tarou's case, why does
SoD man cure the problem? Shouldn't you be like Tarou and get something
in between? But it is clearly implied in the series that SoD man cures
SoD whatever else, but then we've Tarou's case that breaks the
exception. It's just not something you can make sense out of.

Parts like these that really don't make any coherency with the rest of
the series just aren't good to talk about, because it doesn't make any
sense no matter how you look at it. We ignore the hot-ki rule for HSH
unless it is used in a primary battle arc, which is the HSH story arc,
Herb's arc, and Saffron's arc. For other stories where it's used it is
no more than the instant KO punch/kick that we see a lot in Ranma 1/2,
and it's silly trying to reason out why it can be used in those
situation, no more than trying to reason out why the instant KO punches
are possible. Then again, the Anime always treats fighting in Ranma 1/2
like Street Fighter. F D FD for Hiryu Shoten Ha, D FD F for
Amaguriken. I don't expect them to faithfully follow the actual moves.
It is tedious trying to reason out where the heck you get a hot aura
spiral every time you have to use the move.
