Ranma news: Web Site Number 9 has added a separate "Ranma 1/2" section to
their MiSTing archives! Sweet-o!

Er...Ranma with the story:
>>You know truth be told Akane didn't really have anyone except for maybe
Dr.Tofu before Ranma arrived. I mean her father has his own emotional
problems, Kasumi is busy keeping everything together, and Nabiki seems to
keep to herself. Before Ranma came Akane was always fighting, and odds are
she was almost never happy.

I will now take Ranma 1/2 way more seriously than it should be taken. Just
thought I'd warn everybody. ^_^

That's the kind of thing that makes both Kunos more sympathetic to me. They
don't have either parent around, and not because of death -- they've been
abandoned, which is something else completely. Their father simply
disappeared without a look back -- that's got to hurt. Akane, on the other
hand, has a well-intentioned father (if not a real good one), a motherly
sister, and a bunch of friends. She calls Ranma selfish, but she's got a
selfish, self-centered streak herself that she's always trying to pretend
doesn't exist. She's more avarage, so I can't pity her -- everybody has
problems.

S-D Ranma:
>>Is it alright for newbies to spout this much on a second mail? Sure
hope so. Damn does posting make me nervous.

Great! Nice to see that the status quo is intact!

Snapple Femme (hee hee, I like that ^_^):

>>It's: "'desperation strike', my steely buttocks!" ^-~ Welcome back
Kocchi!

Thanks!

I knew I misquoted, I was just too lazy to look it up.... At any rate, I
should remember it now. ^_^

>>Aw, how sad! I always look forward to the results! Of course, I've only
known of your '98 results, so I guess that doesn't really count . . . -_-

That's 'cause 98 was the first year we did it. We're going to add a whole
bunch of new totals this year, since there are ONLY 8 NEW TAPES. Here's the
rough draft:

Ass-pulling-out-of points (I think Kodachi or Genma has got this one nailed)
Ego points (Kuno or Ranma are my faves)
Genderbender points (we might have to do a group award for this one)
Psychosis points (Happosai or Ryoga)
Timex "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking" points (Ryoga will win, and Kuno
should get a Glass Jaw booby prize for this category)
L.E.O. tally
"Dummy" / "Fool" / "Jerk" tally

We may also do the stupid points again, adding -1 point for smart things any
characters do. Then again, Nabiki may end up being the only character with a
positive number of points if we do that.... ^_^

>>Oh not *another* - the original! ^-~

I'm the third Kuno that I know of -- but the first to be Kodachi. Whee, what
an honor! ^_^

>>Did I tell everyone? I met Frank at Anime Central 99! He's one of the
coolest people I've ever met! ^-^

THE Frank? I love Frank! Why don't I get to meet Frank?

Shadow:
>>>>I actually have a very big sociological interest with
the whole "yaoi/shonen ai" subgroup of the anime and manga community
especially in the non-Japanese anime/manga fan base.

>>"What inspires them to take two
heterosexuals like Kuramba and Heiei from Yu Yu Hakusho and put them in a
yoai relationship (according to my bro Czarfire, flame wars have erupted
about this between guys and girls on the YYH ML.)

Oh, that's easy. Kuno is cute. Ryoga is cute. Now just imagine a female
Howard "We need more lesbians!" Stern writing a fanfic. Although Kuno and
Ryoga are awfully macho, and it's hard to picture either of them being gay.
I find it easier to picture Jerry Falwell being gay -- not that I would want
to. -_-

>>I am too geeky for most of the girls to date
(especially in my major which is Drama) but for the girl's who do date geeks
(they usually happen to be geeks themselves) I am not geeky enough ;)

Not geeky enough? Damn, you had me curious! Er, I meant, I'm not geeky!
I'm cool! I spit on your geeky copy of Final Fantasy -- whoa, is that the
anthology??

Hotnit:
>>Over here! And guess what?! I'm sovereign ruler of the ML now! Really!
Everyone trembles at the sound of name. It's cooler than seizures
induced by Episodes of Pokemon or by Mary Hart's voice! Watch. HOTNIT!
See the mass terror? Can you smell the fear Kocchi? I mean really,
someone break out some Glad Plug-ins already I'm suffoctaing here. Oh
well, welcome back Kocchi! Missed ya...LOTS! Kodachi rules!

I'm glad to see that power hasn't changed you! ^_^ I missed you too --
actually, it was you who inspired me to come back. Gawrsh!!

Lovely Spam! Wonderful Spam!

Thanks everybody for welcoming me back. I was worried about coming back,
especially so late, but.... Aw, I just couldn't stay away!! ?Mark, you
didn't see my big reentrance because there wasn't one -- I just couldn't
think up a suitable parody of those dorky "a traveler / man / woman steps out
of the mist" reentrance RPs in time. Speaking of which, hey, Petes!

As for where I was, well. Incredibly cool person that I am, I spent most of
that time doing homework, waiting on people at a local steakhouse, and
playing Xenogears. So, can I join the geek club, or what? (I know those
messages are a couple days old, but I was touched.)
