hmm it all started waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in
early 80's with those great anime Voltron, Starblazers, Robotech, Voltron 2,
and all the otehr horiibly dubbed kickin anime of the period(course i didna
know it was japanese at the time but i'm setting the pace of my life here)
enter Transformers the show that literally shaped a generation into
animeholics exit cash from my young wallet >>

I started the same way you did and the big series for
me were Voltron (I have still have both complete set of robots) and Robotech
(I only have vague memories of watching Robotech when I was younger though) I
am working at a camp this summer and a lot of the kids are really into
Pokemon (a series I still have not seen) The most important things is that
the kids actually know Pokemon comes from Japan. Many of them have Japanese
Pokemon cards so I think that we have a good chance of Otakuzing a decent
part of the younger generations.
