I can never understand why people put Japanese in their fanfiction. It
doesn't do anything besides saying "Ha, I know Japanese. I'm cool." I
mean if you need the environment of a Japanese story, how about write it
all in Japanese or something? Maybe the Ranma no baka could be
considered a TM kind of phrase, but even then...

I can probably recite a song or two from all the Anime CDs I have...
it'll probably be wrong but what the heck.

I thought Saber J's pretty cool (I assume that's where the otaru stuff
come from). I think it's a totally lousy trade at the end for what's
her name, the girl with too many Rs in her name, Roreirira or something
like that...

TOP was too weird for me. Appearance was weird too. I like Lawson's
earlier works better... the one where Ranma dies and stuff and the one
where Lawson gets thrown in Ranmaverse were both pretty good. TIL lacks
excitement... it's all so nice they settled their problems and
everything, but that's NOT the point of the series! The problems aren't
meant to be settled. Logical or divine intervention doesn't make the
premise any easier.

Though I'd imagine it's hard not to try to get rid of the problems when
writing such a fanfic... all fanfic trying to bring closure are Ranma
are pretty much doomed to failure, because Ranma 1/2 isn't supposed to
have closure. I think it's easier if you just pretend the problems
aren't there then trying to resolve them, because you really can't
resolve the problems and still remain true to the series you're writing
about.

I still think Lawson should've studied his martial arts a bit more.
Akane stronger than Shampoo? Um, no. Yeah, just... no. Even willpower
was pretty stretchy.
