Well, for some reason it's still "IF" Ranma TV gets put on DVD. They will
use the OVAs to gauge interest in the TV series.

I can't believe they are so timid about Ranma on DVD (which probably is
their second biggest seller right now (after Pokerat)). My suggestion to
VIZ:

1) Start putting 3 episodes per VHS tape starting with season 5 (and
start this with MI)- this will increase sales to those who won't pay
$25/30 for just two TV episodes (a lot of people, from what I've heard).

2) Start putting Ranma season 5 on DVD no later than a month or two
behind the VHS release. It's getting a bit late for this now, but if Viz
got going right now they could get season 5 out on DVD with only a slight
lag behidn the VHS releases. No fewer than 3 eps per disc will be
acceptable to most DVD owners-hence why going to 3 eps pre VHS tape is a
good idea right now. If VHS is still at 2 eps per tape, then they can put
two VHS volumes on 1 DVD for ~$35

3) Do box sets of the first four seasons on DVD at a rate of one every
six months or so (I understand it does take time to do them).

What I hope they don't try pulling is starting with Season 1 and working
their way to the end with volume releases... which would mean it would be
years until we see 5-7 on DVD.

Note to Viz: New Releases sell better than old catalog items like the
movies and OVAs.
