(*Poof!* of purple smoke, and here I am...)
Oy... sorry I haven't posted anything in a while... but, things have
been... roughish. Anyhoo, I just waded through about... 50? MOs,
and here's part one of the stuff I want to respond to... ready?
QM:
<<Snip the Fanfic club.>>
Um... Question Mark? Where do I sign up?
Hot the Nittian:
<<Powerful enough to make her behave?! Yeah okay. Happosai
would turn Cologne over his little Happo-knee.>>
This, my dear fellow, is where you are dreaming. Cologne can take
apart Happy any day of the week, and a few which aren't.
Remember, she's not the one who goes skyrocketting from random
angry fists on a regular basis. I've only ever seen her lose Once, to
the Catfist, and I'm not so sure how much of a heavy loss I want to
call it, considering that she was looking virtually unharmed when
she gave up and headed off.
Oh... and yes, Happy has a big weakness. She doesn't. So, there
:p
Samster:
<<I'm glad I'm not a Ryouga fan. Oh sure, I vaguely like the guy,
but I don'tSUPPORT him, y'know? I've got this amazingly useful
subconcious thing where I always side with the main characters.
As such, I side with Ranma. When Ryouga continuously foils all of
Ranma's attemts at, well anything, I side with Ranma, not Ryouga.
When Ranma and Akane ended up together I was happy.>>
You know... it's funny. I tend to side... with um... I don't know who
I side with... whomsoever I think is right, or no one at all, or
whatever...
I support Akane and Ranma getting together not because they are
my favorite characters... they definetally are not. Oy, I wanted to
transform the entire ML into Akane for personal mischief
amusement, not because I worship the ground she walks on. I
just... well, see the way they act jealous about each other, and the
way they look at each other when the other isn't looking... and how
they keep each other in their minds, almost subconsciously...
And I says to myself, "self, those two are falling in love with
each other, aren't they?"
And Myself replies, "Yep."
And I just got to respect that... ya know... love makes me
misty eyed...
<<So why am I actually GLAD I'm not a Ryouga fan? For the same
reason I'm gladI sided with the main characters, Ranma and
Akane, over the other au relationship characters such as Ukyou,
Shampoo etc: because the end of Ranma 1/2 would've driven me
absolutely NUTS. If I, like many people here, had liked Ryouga
better, had wanted him to get together with Akane and had hated
Ranma for 'interfering' with this couple who were 'meant to be
together', the ending would've introduced me to that good 'ol
padded cell and straightjacket.>>
Glorp? Nibblebroker? Really? A straightjacket? Honestly, if
eggagerated? Wow... I am a Ryouga fan, and I'm not going to go
nuts over it. Heck, I'm a bigtime Mousse, Gosunkugi, and, now
that I think of it... a Kunou fan, and whilst I do wish they could find
happiness somehow... and like it when or if they do... but I
definetly don't stop enjoying the series just because they don't get
married to Ranma, Akane or the Pigtailed Goddess (tee hee...) I
sometimes wish Ryouga could have told her his feelings just once,
to get off his chest, picturing a semi Shinnosuke esque scene of it,
but... oh well, what will be will be... I'd lend him a shoulder to cry
on if I a) was there, and b) wasn't afraid he'd punch me across the
block, telling me what a good friend I am, alla 'Fighting Gods
Tattoo'. I guess I'm just a fan of the underdogs... and the weirdos.
In fact, I will tell you, it's a reasonably rare thing when the main
characters of a story are the ones I identify with strongly. It's
usually a member or few of the supporting cast that I appreciate.
They are usually the odd ones, after all, while the main chars are
often ones that are the most "normal."
<<But no, I thought it was Ryouga who was interfering with the
couple who was meant to be, and found the ending satisfying.>>
I find the prospect of the ending satisfying because... well, of the
look in their eyes when they actually stop and... well, have a
moment... they love each other, and that's what does it for me.
That makes it right. *^-^*
Benji-Benji!:
<<Perfect matches?!! Konatsu is a perfect match?! Ukyo needs
a man!!! A real man! Not a woman! That's why she didn't like
Tsubasa, fer pete's sake!!!>>
Either that... or she needs a woman! A real woman! Not a man!!!
Now that I think of it... Akane and Ranma aren't meant to be...
Akane and Ukyou are!!!! That's it... all of Akane's latent
homosexual tendancies, which she vents in her boy hating... one
day, they're going to lead her to Ucchan's, where she'll find
Ukyou... who is unconsiously searching for a woman by dressing
as a man.... and it'll all come together, just like that. And Konatsu
will help Ranma come to grips with his own homosexual leanings,
as evinced by his overweening machoness and resentment of his
femal form... you see he really dreads it, because he knows that a
female body allows him to pair with a man, on a socially
acceptable level, and it scares him... a fear of what he really wants.
Konatsu, as the non threatening she male, will be there to guide
him through it. And in my CoRR ness, I know that eventually,
Ryouga will realize his true love, Ranma chan... all those times
Onna Ranma masqueraded as someone else, Ryouga wasn't really
fooled, he let himself be fooled, subconscously knowing that it was
his beloved Ranma chan he held in his arms, and reveling in it...
Ranma, finally seeing, truly how much Ryouga has in common with
him/her, will fall head over heels, and be torn between his two loves
Konatsu and Ryouga. Ryouga, by now, deeply in love with Akari
as well, will be in a similar position... But in the end, they'll work
out some kind of arrangement, and then, Akane, Ranma, Ryouga,
and Akari will all move into at Ucchan's, and the eight young lovers
can form a organization for the support of alternative lifestyles.
Oh, and Azusa will run off with a certain little crossdressing
costumer, and they'll raise a lovely family of little ice skating
Tsubasaites!
(At this point, I break down into hysterical giggles and cackling...
colapsing and RotFL.)
Oh... man... that was so... much... fun!
Yours Truly,
Drakli

It's all in the mind!"
