Talk about fresh information. 106 is from the Jan 20th edition of Weekly
Shonen Sunday. It will be years before Viz gets to it.
Viz started by saying they were putting out IY as concurrent releases.
But since they are doing two chapters per month (I think they are doing
two/month, but I don't usually pick up the monthly-I wait for the GNs)
compared to a chapter a week in Japan they are falling further and
further behind. For instance there are 8 volumes of the IY tankoubon
compared to Viz's 3.
I know it's a different market over here, but the speed of their releases
is getting painful. They are not even half done with Ranma and of course
it has been done in Japan since 1996. I always worry that these series
might end up like UY-on hiatus due to decreased sales as interest moves
to other titles over time (this is the way of the world). Viz has never
gotten the age old marketing principal: Sell it while it's hot and
popular.
My advice to IY fans, pickup the Japanese volumes (mailorder or if you
have someplace local) and use the translations at:
http://www.wot-club.org.uk/Inuyasha/index.html
The series really does get better after vol5 (not that there was anything
wrong with the early parts, it just really starts to get better in vol
5).
One nice thing viz is doing that they haven't in the past: Their graphic
novels are in the same collection of chapters as the Japanese volumes.
Makes it easy to talk about a particular story with other, since with
Ranma, MI, ect... you always have different volume/chapter layouts.

Kodachi...
Is not a fiancee in any shape or form. She has no claim on Ranma. One
anime-only epsiode did have her trying to give Genama a dowery for Ranma,
but it was never accepted.
