Basically, it's just a "reflexive" reaction to Ranma getting hugged
by anyone else than her, really. As we all know, both Akane and Ranma
are very immature when it comes to love. I don't think that Akane can
quite handle competition at the time, especially when she feels that
acknowledging that she cares kind of shows that what she's been
denying on the surface is actually true. 

It's kind of a conflict of interest, in that sense, and she tends to
pick the "hitting Ranma" part of it more often than not. Of course,
that does kind of stem from the fact that she knows, over time, that
Ranma understands those malletings as nothingserious. It's when she
doesn't react in anger that Ranma becomes concerned...
