No, there wasn't. But, if you had read my original post, I put in a
disclaimer to specifically deal with this situation. In short, it said, "if
you weren't talking about Christianity, then this post means dick, and I ask
your indulgence." Which is in kind of fancy language, especially there at
the end, but that's how I tend to write. Indulgence (sort of) means
ignoring the fact and acting like it didn't exist.

Mainly, I was kind of griped by the recent rash of calling God female that
I've heard here and there back in the States. So, I decided to let it show
exactly what I thought of it, and why it shouldn't be. I didn't mean to
start this paganism thing. I could really care less what religion everybody
is, or why they are that, I just wanted to correct what I saw as a
falsehood.
Of course, since Benzaiten wasn't referring to Christianity, then my post
should have been ignored like I asked.

Hmm, it's been a while since I played the game, but here's what I remember.
When Tifa met Cloud, he didn't remember his name, but he remembered hers,
and then she said "Cloud," and that's when he remembered. It seems that the
two did some talking, enough at least for her to trust him, although really
she only offered him the job to keep him close to her. I'm sure that she
had to clear this with Barret, and I guess that he and Cloud got into it.
It never really takes much for them to get into it anyway. It's possible,
however unlikely (that they may find a weakness... oops) that the two of
them never exchanged names, leading to the exchange on the way to the Mako
Reactor. Of course, it's also there because you have to have a chance to
name your characters.
Still one of my favorite games, storywise and action, but then, ah, hell,
who knows?
