Well, I like butch women (and femme men... but that's another story ;)

Part of the romance between Akane and Ranma seems to consist of
them seeing each other as they are instead of thru social
filters... Rana has this whole list of insults, but clearly
he likes Akane (even if some of the insults are more than half-true.)

I think the best thing for their relationship might be to have 
_Ranma_ take cooking lessons from Kasumi... then he wouldn't worry
about starving and could pay attention to other issues... like
how not to freeze up when the prospect of kissing arose, or
what constitutes "safe sex" when your body is subject to
dramatic changes of form, or when to keep his mouth shut,
or the phone number for the Goddess Relief Hotline.
