Yes it is.  Here's a mini-biography of Tarou:  First off, when he was born,
Happousai helped out with the birth, so, as is the custom of Tarou's village,
Happousai was allowed to baptise him.  Being the bastard that he is, Happousai
dunked him in spring of drowned Yeti-Riding-Bull-While-Carrying-Crane-and-Eel,
and gave him the name Pantyhose (Pansuto)!  Now that he's grown up, the only
way he can change his name is by defeating Happousai (that's basically his
raison d'etre).  He's an enigmatic guy - sometimes he's a real jerk, sometimes
he's not so bad.  He's much smarter than most normal characters though, and an
excellent fighter.  Oh yeah, and he doesn't mind his cursed form (which is
insanely powerful).

Check out the name of the spring he drowned in: Niuhoomanmaoorenniichuan.  Try
saying *that* twelve times fast! 

Oh yeah, and welcome back aboard, Jeff.  This was probably a fair amount more
than you cared to know, but oh well.  ^_^
