[Ranma-Akane]

Ronnie/Akane:
>To: Whomever

>When do you think Ranma and Akane first starting liking each other. Was it
>in the bathtub or when Akane got her hair cut and Ranma thought it was cute
>or maybe later on? Love at first sight?

Hee hee. That was my first post when I joined a few weeks back (Has it
only been that long???) This question is harder if you only believe the
Manga to be cannon, but is easier if you accept the Anime as being cannon
also.

Because RT was around for the production of the first few Anime episodes,
I believe that the changes were "corrections" to rectify the fact that
Ranma and Akane's bond seemed to grow too quickly (We all know that's
how the Heavnen's meant it to be, and nothing could've got in the way,
but... ^_^)

One of the "correction" scenes I will always quote is the one where Ranma
and Akane are in the park having burgers. While they are talking about
Dr. Tofu, Akane says something along the lines of "How would you know
anything about how I feel?" Ranma responds, "Maybe I do," and looks a
bit down. This seems to say that by this point, he has developed a strong
attraction to her. As someone said, it is defintely after the first fight
at school, that Ranma develops any measure of respect for Akane, so that's
the window that I'd point to.

As for when Akane develops a strong attraction to Ranma... I think he
just got lucky and caught her off the reboud. (Runs from all of Ranma-
kuns worshipers.) Hee hee. Actually, I find Akane a lot harder to
read than Ranma (Which is natural, as men can never tell how women are
feeling. ^_^)

[Ranma in Korean]

>Yeah, they did something like taking the first 10 episodes and squishing them into

>4, which is wrong. However, it was that dub that got me addicted to Ranma, plus

>the editing isn't nearly that severe in any subseqent episodes.

You know, that dubbing really was good. The difference is probably
from the fact that they still air a good number of "shows" on radios.
By "shows", I'm referring to something that works like a TV series,
except its done all int VA. Kinda like what Orsan Welles (?) did for
"War of the Worlds" (?) over the radio. Plus the fact that its easier
to understand Japanese intonation and inflection, but that aside...

[Ryouga Stuff]

Kit:

>> Soun's a sicko...)
>
>I guess it's because he realizes how happy P-chan makes Akane. I dunno.

This is probably one of those things in the plot that are just
conveniently glossed over, since only random college students would
ever point it out.. ^_^

>Bandanas or Fiancees?

Huh??? You must be one of those lateral thought people. Where'd you get
this?

Kit:
>Usually, he looks better with. (using the Shinnosuke OAV where Ryoga
>crossdresses as proof) In GN 1, though, I'm sure it could go either way.

Being a member of CoR, I cannot accept you as an objective observer,
just as I would never volunteer myself as an objective judge of Akane.

>I'm well aware of other EVAs, such as the ones from the last movie. (Heard

Whaddya expect with Kaoru in each of them...

>>4) Tokyo-3 is where Gendo Ikari, head of the Human Instrumentality

With Adam. That's why at the end of tape 12 Kaoru looks suprised when
he sees Lillith nailed up instead of Adam in the Terminal Dogma. Or at
least, that's how I understand it...

>Who thinks the NGE dubs SUCK! Subs all the way! (Rei and Misato are the
>only ones who can accurately portray the Japanese VAs... Shinji is ok

>his battle-cry, though)

I think this is universally agreed upon, though it does get better...
