I'm sure you meant broken English (Viz not having any control/input/say
over the Japanese version). Supposedly, Shampoo does not speak perfect
Japanese, either. Since my Japanese would hardly be considered even fluent
(or competent or even mediocre--I only have 2 semesters and all of the
anime stuff I've watched), I can't verify that. From what I have read, she
uses a lot of syntax and diction that Chinese people stereotypically use
when they speak Japanese. Viz just changed that into what Chinese people
stereotypically sound like when they speak English.
