With terrible grammar, nonetheless.^_^ I heard that some Chinese living in Japan

were offended by Rei Sakuma's portrayal of the character.

I have no idea what she's talking about- I have seen the first 24 episodes, and there

is no real nudity to speak of. Ofscreen sex? Yep. Phallic references? Sort of.

Cleavage? Certainly. Other various sexual situations? Definitely.

Actual nudity? No.

That's true. I think, though, what was assumed in the question was that the
original would not be tampered with in the way that previous anime on US
television has been. It seemed that the question was asking whether Ranma as it
is now would become popular, not necessarily if it would be popular if certain
changes would be made. But do you have a problem with just plain poularity of
anime or is it more with the cuts translators like DiC make in order to make it so?

If it's the latter, I guess I agree; if it's the former, well... I think anime is
a _good_
thing, and I generally like it when good things are shared by a lot of people.

I think that anime should be popular in the US, but on the terms of the creators-

unedited, unless with permission by the creators, and not limited to the "kids only"

limitation that is placed on animation today. Things have been set in motion for

changes to occur- The Simpsons and King of the Hill are shows that are frequently

listed in the top 20 in ratings, and the current sci fi drama Invasion America is

doing pretty well for the WB. Dreamworks is coming out with a dramatic
animated film that is actualy going to get a PG (rather than G) rating. And then

Disney is coming up with the unedited translation of the anime Mononoke Hime in
thatres nationwide next year. The wheels have definitely been set in motion, and

so far, though it's only the beginning, things look promising.

I did? No I didn't! Where did I guess it?^_^
