Here are some random thoughts on Ranma i had.

 1. Ranma could never be popular in America because the teenaged cast members
do not act like they came from Kids.  They don't drink and they don't engage
in sex.  Compared to teenagers in most American movies and TV shows, Ranma
teenagers are saints.

2. Occasionally I feel we (non-Japanese Ranma fans) overanalyze Ranma 1/2.
Ranma is not amoung the serious mangas and anime in existence and perhaps we
see it on a deeper level than it really is.
