Well I would say that its just her style of artwork. She has a specific 
process of drawing people and she's comfortable doing it. She does make some 
alterations for different characters. However, they all boil down to a 
handful of archtypes. I don't think its a major concern of hers, she's more 
story driven.

You never know Lum may have gone back in time. (I'm severely behind in my 
Inu-yasha reading, has Inu-yasha's 'parents' been explained.) Heh, Lum and 
Mr. Soichiro ^_-
