I'm not surprised, really. There are all different kinds of Ranma 1/2 fans
who like all different things, and we've bumped into quite a few on the
ML in the time I've been here. We have and have had Happosai fans,
Tarou fans, and we even had an Azusa fan in here once O_o

I think the main appeal to Happi fans (correct me if I'm wrong guys ^_-) is
the fact that...well, he's just pretty darn _funny_, is all. Sure he's a
pervert and a lecher but it's so comedic watching him make passes at
girls. Personally my favorite moments  are when Happi is getting the snot
kicked out of him or getting bapped or something - and you can call me
some sick sadist, but that's the way I feel about Happosai....^_^

Even the beatings and hits are funny, though - because usually you get
Happi bouncing right back for more, especially in the case of Soun and
Genma, who are always looming over waiting for a weak moment to
"finish off the Master". My favorite is anime-only - in the "Goodbye
Girl-type" ep, Happi is spying on Ranma and co. Bringing the urns, and
ominously threatening him - until he looks back and apparently sense
something - and then there a shot of Soun's foot and Genma;s hand
filling the screen, and then the shot pulls out to show Soun and Genma
frozen in positions which clearly showed they were about to push Happi
off. Of course, the two try to cover it up, but I found it pretty funny,
myself. ^_^
