<<Actually, adding fancy graphics can degrade the usability of a web site,
for people with slow links, older browsers, or disabilties. There are
definite tradeoffs between some kinds of glitz and content, and there are
different implementation methods with various advantages and disadvantages.
(For example, using a solid background color, colored table cells, <font>
tags, and/or using CSS style sheets imposes less overhead than large
graphical backgrounds and buttons.)>>

Not my website.  I have a bit of glitz in my website however, it doesn't
degrade usability.  I reuse graphics, I outsource big ones to faster
servers, so the effect is lots of speed and content with minimal loading
time.
Tips: No Java, Frames, Direct X, Active X, cookies, anoying little window
popups (like Geocities ads).
