I agree with you totally.

Oh yeah, there was not enough feeling at the end of the story in the
video. The manga had a much more deep ending. I wonder why the video
didn't put in that narration by Ranma about how he felt about Akane..
That was the best part in the manga version of the story.

It does have more to it than the manga. But it was such a dumb story.

BTW I think this movie was shown as a triple billing with the GS Mikami
movie and another anime called Bow (something about stupid dog)
