I don't know if this is obscure, but generally if people in Ranma 1/2
says they don't remember something, they usually really don't remember
something rather than having a complex reason for lying (or you can go
with the Ranma Reunion Theory I come up with). For example, when Ukyou
had the similar 'light bulb' effect when Shampoo pointed out that if
they 'killed' Nabiki they don't have to pay her, it generally means that
she really didn't think of that idea before Shampoo mentioned it, rather
than having some real complicated plot behind her bid for Ranma.

Similarly, even without the cultural references, the casts obviously
treats Akane and Ranma's engagement with a lot more emphasis than that
of Ukyou's which usually implied A & R's engagement is more serious than
that of Ukyou's. Call it plot device, but it still means that in Ranma
1/2 A & R's relationship is a lot more central and important, and the
cast has deemed it far more important than that of Ukyou's. Personally
that has always been reason enough for me, but I certainly don't mind
getting into the actual cultural validity of those statements if one is
interested to discuss it.

Yeah, one of these days we might actually do something. Still trying
to find someone to do the actual programming. It seems whatever free
time I've always goes somewhere else other than homepage planning.
Still haven't even got time to put up my Aeris page, and she's my new
favorite character!

<It wasn't the same type of bread each time, though. You'd have a point
(and a good one) if it was always the same kind of bread, meaning that
they
each had the same favorite, but it's a different one each time.>

So if you're really hungry, and it's the last food they got, and Ranma
has shown no particular dislike for any type of food, you'll always grab
the same type of bread? It's like if I'm saying: "Well, I'm not going
to try to grab that Crispy Chicken Sandwich in the usual brawl in
McDonald today just because my favorite is the Big Mac, even though I'm
very hungry and I want food really bad." You cannot be choosy if you're
constantly starving. People in Africa who are starving don't care if
you give them bread or rice or what not, because they're hungry, and
there isn't enough food. If you don't get it, someone else will.

Unless Ranma has a particular dislike for certain type of bread, there
is no reason why he shouldn't try to get any last piece of bread he can
get his hands on. Praytell, is common sense really that unobvious to
you? We know Ranma is hungry. We know Ranma wants food. We know Ranma
has no particular dislike for food. Why wouldn't he want the different
types of bread?

I find it amusing for you to say he was more uncivil than I am.
Really? Just because he rebuked your opinion more sternly than I've?
And this is strange coming from you, the one who believes one should
live for others most of the time, respect their opinion, etc... Yet you
just happen to not respect those that disagree with you? Sure seems to
me if you've so much faith in helping others and so on, you can do a far
better job to prove your words by actually respecting the opinion you
disagree.
