Regarding Ranma, I won't debate b/c I'm already a week tardy in a
different one.  But for your info, I've read the manga in Chinese format
up till #35, and I still don't think he fits the epithet of "lousy jerk".
 To the contrary, he fits it less and less as we go along.

It's not that the pool is underneath the rink, it's that the skating rink
was created by freezing the pool.

The place they practiced at and the place where the competition took was
are different.  Perhaps they were forced to create a temporary rink at
school to have the competition on b/c Ranma damaged the other one.
