Oops. Did I start something?
I meant that Ukyou doesn't see Ranma's curse as a liability.
Once the novelty wore off, she took it in stride just like she does
everything else, accepting it as fact with a smile and a nod. Nothing
fazes her. If Ranma had been cursed to turn into an adorable little
bunny, or a grotesque monster, Ukyou would treat him just the same.
She'd probably very matter-of-factly say "Hello, Ran-chan!" then pour
some hot water on him and give a plate of okonomiyaki, as if nothing was
abnormal about the situation at all.
The reason she doesn't actively search for a cure for Ranma's
curse is that she doesn't see the need. She likes him just fine the way
he is, and remember, the first time she saw him in cursed form, he was
using it to his own advantage. So maybe she believes that Ranma doesn't
mind the curse at all. She doesn't come in contact with him very much
outside of chasing him (for murderous or loving intent) or as part of a
scheme to get him.
Actually, none of the characters seem to be actively searching
for a cure. Most of them moan and groan a lot, sure, but it seems they
very rarely pursue a cure unless the chance for one falls in their laps.
I'm sure if Ukyou had the chance to help Ranma get a cure, she
would, because of their long friendship. And, if for no other reason,
because she wants him to have cause to love her, just like every other
fiance around. ^_^
