Actually the best response to that when adult figures use it on you to
tell you that you don't have to follow the crowd was said by Goslin
Mallard of DW Duck. I always say it.

Mr. Poe: If everyone jumped off a cliff, would you do it too!?

Me: Sure, if it looked like fun!

[Class starts laughing]

Mr. Poe: I had that one coming.

There was also:

Poe: If I put a gun to everyones head and told them they were going to
make waterpolo or else, everyone would become really good swimmers over
the summer.

Me: Uh, depends. How big's the gun?
