Well, if you think about it, everyone else had a major reason to go to
China.
		Ranma:  To settle the score with Kirin
			(and subconciously rescue Akane)
		Ryoga:	To rescue Akane
		Kuno:	It's his boat.  Er, WAS his boat.
		
		Soun:	to rescue Akane.
		Genma:	to rescue his son's innazuke.

		Shampi:	Where Ranma goes, she goes too.
			(I believe this is what she said.)
			Besides, she wanted to go home, as well.
		Mousse:	Same as above, except where 'Poo goes...
			And he's probably a tad homesick as well.

		Happi:	He started it.  Oh yeah, and Monlon.  And Rai-chi.
			And Ranma and Shampoo and Akane...

		Obaba:	She also knows what's going on, and tells the
			truth, unlike other ancient people.

	Nabs and Kasumi have had bigger roles than Ukyo at this point, and
they didn't follow.  (Too bad, I like Nabs)  I think only those who had a
solid purpose in the story were involved.  So in order for Ukyo to join
the party, the writers had to think of a reason for her to join the party.
That's how I see it.  Either that, or Kelly Sheridan had laryngitis.

(Yes, I know that it was Nihonese first.  It was a joke.)
