I also believe that Soun's cask of Nannichuan was a part of the deal if she
would marry him.

I don't think that Akane ever says "I love you" (out loud or to herself)
without being interrupted in some way or another.  Assuming the OAV's are
similar enough to the manga, she *almost* says it both in "Shampoo's Sudden
Switch" (daydream sequence) and "Reawakening Memories" (when the Orochi is
drowning her).  But then again, you probably knew these.
