I KNEW there was at least one topic I forgot. Yes, as many people pointed out, the
Kiss
of Death seems to be a sort of challenge to a serious battle. According to the Book
of Amazon
Tribal Law, if defeated by an outsider, and that outsider is a woman, the Amazon must
give the
Kiss of Death and kill without delay (I'm pretty sure that's how it goes, but I'm
paraphrasing).
So Shampoo gave the Kiss of Death to Ranma AND Akane, and didn't kill either of them.
So
this means that she's either a really lousy Amazon (which I can't believe), or that
the Kiss of Death
is OPTIONAL when killing outsiders.
So if the Kiss was like a challenge (an Amazon version of a glove slapped across
the face),
they would just use it to emphasize the fact that they were going to kill the outsider.
I believe I also
read in one of the TV synopsises (sp?) that Shampoo later gave the Kiss of Death to
Linlin and Ranran
for interfering between her and Ranma. Though I haven't seen the episodes yet, I don't
THINK that
Shampoo would kill fellow Amazons in a fight, unless it was something a LOT more serious
than that.
In summary, the Kiss of Death is a challenge. When DEFEATED by an outsider, the Amazon

MUST kill them, so a proper challenge is in order, hence the Kiss. When used in other
circumstances,
the Kiss also acts as a challenge, but the 'kill without delay' part seems strictly
for outside women who
defeat an Amazon.
Who knows? Maybe Shampoo just likes trouble? Did Linlin or Ranran ever give anyone
the Kiss
of Death? Or worse, <SHUDDER> did Cologne ever give anyone the Kiss? Geez... Gettin'
the Kiss from
her would be bad enough, without having some crazy old two-foot lady trying to kill
you all the time...

...you know, there's a real easy way to get your FF3 characters up to level 99 real
fast.
It's called a game genie code.
Was it just me, or did Atma seem a lot weaker than Atma Weapon?
