on the ending songs cd:

me, i like hinageshi the best, but i can't say why, musically, except it
does sound rather depressing, which is unusual for a comedy.

anyway, there's this japanese show named 'tokoro-san's megaten' and they
did an experiment with a whole sample size of two participants, one
japanese and one american, and they found that the people reacted
differently to different cultural sounds, like cicadas, jazz, japanese
harp, japanese windchimes, and this guy slurping up noodles. the american
hated the sound of cicadas and the japanese harp, and the japanese guy
didn't like jazz.
