Akari is a late character introduced by R.T. A full (and more accurate) 
description can be found on Cardwell's page. I do not believe that she is a

Akari is a farm girl that Ryoga meets and falls for. Ryoga wrestles and 
defeats her giant pig. Akari is incredibly fond of pigs and I believe knew 
about his curse. She is shy like Ryoga and is basically pretty quiet. Ryoga 
was torn between Akane and Akari for a while, but decided on Akari.
