If this machine is made, it will not be from Sony. Some people will
probably add the switch and sell them at their stores. Though I can't
understand what is taking so long.

I've heard of a store that sells a Saturn with the universal switch that
they put in themselves, and was told that it works very well. It is just
slightly more expensive. This appeared a couple of weeks after the Saturn
was released in the US.

There is a way of playing Japanese games on the American PSX. No special
adaptor is required but I believe there is one out there. It requires that
you start up with an American game and then switch discs to the Japanese
game.

If you would like the exact instructions I will look for them. There are a
few steps involved.

Also, I was told that Sony might change the newer machines so that this
trick cannot be done. But I have not heard of them making the change. I
read this many months ago. If this is an issue, you can call a store that
sells Japanese games and ask them. I'm sure they will know.

Hope this helps,
Dave
