Oh, no.  You brought up the Yuugen Kaisha and the GS Mikami thing.  This 
is about as debated as the "subs vs. dubs" thing.

The only things that I can definitely say are similar are they are both 
female heroines, in similar job roles, that use a strangely similar 
weapon.  Other than that, I completely agree with Peter Evans and say 
that they are not really the same.

Yes, and it has that submarine, the Ragoh.  And the cute red-haired alien
