I've been wondering about something:

In at least two episodes, I've seen these huge teddy bear-looking objects
get heaved at someone.  For example:

 1. Nettouhen ep #2 (Cat-Fu Fighting, I think): After Akane falls through the
    trapdoor, Sasuke pulls a rope, laughs at Ranma, then gets plugged in the
    head by the aforementioned bear-thing.
    
 2. OAV #6, Akane & Her Sisters Part II: While Akane, Ukyou, and Shampoo are
    training, Ukyou heaves "the thing" at Akane.


My question is, what ARE those things?
