Okay, calling Akane a tomboy doesn't mean she's actually unfeminine.  I was
 oversimplifying.  It's better to say that Akane is just poorly skilled at
 the things a traditional Japanese wife is expected to be good at (cooking,
 sewing, etc..).  I think Ranma mostly calls her a tomboy because she
 spends so much time training in her martial arts and because he just
 likes ribbing her.  It's kind of like Akane calling Ranma a pervert because
 of his curse.  Doesn't *really* apply exactly.
