Well, I know the cats not white now, but if we accept the fact that Shamppo dyes her hair purple then purple dye on black hair makes the dark purple/blue hair we see when she's human. Purple dye on a white cat gives us a pink cat with purple highlights. The cat in the anime is definitly pink with purple highlights. These are not normal colors for cats, of course. In the manga she's white on black, so it's hard to be sure from the original work. I've seen colored versions by RT using various colors for the cat on the covers, so it's hard to use that as a reference (onna-Ranma's hair also goes through the spectrum on the covers). :) The breed could be siamese, but my point (in my opinion) is that the purple highlights and pink hair is most likely due to purple dye from Shampoo's human hair on a normally white cat. > > Hey! He had run out of tears to shed long ago, but the expression on his face told the story. Kasumi calmly slid the door closed and knelt down facing her father and mother. Tears flowed from her eyes, but she just waited until her father spoke. After several minutes of silence, Soun asked with a scratchy voice, "Kasumi dear. Will you please say goodbye to your mother and then go get Mr. Saotome?" He didn't look up at his daughter once. "Of course, Father," Kasumi said. She stood up, took one of her mother's hands in her's, and said a soft, "Goodbye, Mother. I'll keep my promise." Wiping the tears out of her eyes, she left to go find Mr. Saotome.
