In fact, I've got the origin story on video still. . . Do you remember Foofer? The Pawpaws? The Gilligan's Island Cartoon? (By the way, he did get off the island. Ever see the Gilligan in Hawaii movie? I don't remember the plot, but it's out there.) Ah, the memories. My Little Ponies, Carebears, HanaBarbara was the big name in Saturday morining cartoons. . . Jim Lazar: My opinion of Shampoo the cat? She's Siamese! Look at her! She's got magenta points (ears, feet, tail)! She just lacks a mask! She a Siamese, I tell you! Who ever started calling her "white"? Hardly! Hey! Where are you guys taking me? I'm just stating my opinion! HELP! I'M BEING OPRESSED!!!!!! How I Was Introduced to Ranma 1/2: I was at my friend's house and she made me watch the first movie. And when I say "made", I mean "made". At that time, I was anti-anime. All I had ever seen of it was crummy garage anime both drawn and dubbed badly. After the movie, I sat around and watched her play the Super NES fighting game. I came away with very mild impressions of the characters. I remembered them by key things. This is who I remembered: Ranma--"Well, he's the main character, so of course I remember him. He turns into a girl and he's scared of cats." That girl with the mallet That guy who runs around screaming, "Pig-tailed Girl!" The guy that turns into the panda The guy that turns into the pig That girl with the purple hair that says, "Hai-yah!" all the time and turns into a cat The little old guy that likes underwear That guy with the really pretty long black hair--"Wow! She's got pretty hair!" "That's a guy." "That's a GUY?! Well. . .he's got pretty hair." The guy who shouted, "PICKLES!" The girl with the elephant That was my very first impression of Ranma 1/2. Years (honestly, years) later, I decided it wasn't so bad, and quickly fell in love. It was funny how much of the opening chase scene I remembered when I watched the first movie again for the first time. ^_^ "Oh, no! Without my shop curtain, I can't open the resaurant! Hey! Come back here!" "What are you doing, you stupid wench?!" "Ugh. Mackeral jerky." "What are you doing with your bike up here?!" Okay. I'm done. I promise. ^_^ --Becky-chan, itsumo usuwarai o susu ^_^
