I think the engine blew because of Belldandy's prayer.

Skuld originally wished for Keiichi's loss, so she sneaked into the Aoshima
camp to add some turbo-charge stuffs onto their bike so they'd win. After
seeing
Belldandy's determination (or was it confidence) and Keiichi's "big speech,"
she started to have doubts about the original plan somehow. Well, the engine
could have blew due to Skuld's faulty design on the turbo-charging modification,
or it could have been the Goddess' will. ^_^ Either way, the result has been
wonderful, and Skuld had been perfect in the changes she made to Keiichi's bike.
(As being kindly pointed out, there are indeed a lot of hardware
limitations regarding
the auto club's twin-engine thing, so the problems with the shakes and the
"handolu"
they can't be avoided no matter what, really.)
And I still would not entrust my life to any device Skuld builds -- not
without someone
else tries it out first. ^_^
